
Matthew Swenson
Matthew Swenson started out in the coffee industry pulling shots as a barista in 2000. Since then, Matthew has worked several different positions in the coffee and beverage industry including store manager, district manager, distribution manager, product and program developer, and corporate trainer before settling in as the President and Owner of Evans and King Coffee Roasters. As a trainer and consultant for a national chain, Matthew was instrumental in developing, authoring, and executing one of the most stringent corporate coffee training programs in the industry. While traveling to almost every region of the United States to open coffee shops, Matthew has trained hundreds of new baristas on the art, appreciation, and techniques associated with good coffee. With Barista certification from the International Academy of Specialty coffee and Instuctor certification from the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), Matthew regularly volunteers at the Annual SCAA conferences to instruct classes on espresso.

David King
David King co-founded the company in 1999 with friend Chris Evans. After getting his coffee roasting start with a popcorn popper and a few pounds of green coffee, David decided to take his new found passion to the next level. David and his partner invested in a small roaster and rented a space to get started. David expanded the business shortly after and upgraded coffee roasters. David began to impress the likes of National chains such as Bear Creek Coffee and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Soon after, David won a top 10 award in the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s Roaster’s Choice Competition. With an invited 370+ members, David King proved to the industry that he truly is one of the nation’s most talented coffee roasters.
